Flagstaff Neighborhoods

Flagstaff Neighborhoods Guide

Flagstaff is a small mountain city at 6,910 feet, home to roughly 77,000 people, 80 miles from the Grand Canyon, with Route 66, Northern Arizona University, and the San Francisco Peaks woven through a Ponderosa pine forest and four real seasons. That variety plays out neighborhood by neighborhood, and this guide breaks down all twenty of them.

Cassi McGinnis (Cassaundra Jo McGinnis, REALTOR | AZ DRE License #SA688027000) represents buyers and sellers across every Flagstaff neighborhood with the Justin Bemis Real Estate Team (JBRE & Co.) at Real Broker AZ, LLC. Price ranges below are general 2026 guidance, not live listings.

The mountain city

Flagstaff, at a glance.

Elevation shapes everything here: how homes are built, how they heat, how you water the yard in a dry summer, and how fast the snow melts. These are the numbers that frame every neighborhood decision.

  • A Ponderosa pine forest surrounds the city, one of the largest in the world, with trails at nearly every doorstep.

  • Four real seasons: snowy winters, green springs, golden summers, and a brilliant fall color change.
